Meet Maui
Maui is a seven year old rescue dog from the Halifax Humane Society in Daytona Beach, FL. The person that dropped him with his brothers and sister said they were Mountain Cur pups. At home, Maui seems to consider himself mostly human and the other humans in the house as part of his staff. Maui has some pretty strict and random rules about how he thinks the other humans and cat (Tiger) should conduct themselves. There is no wrestling, no hugging (too similar to wrestling perhaps), no walking down the steps too fast, no opening the garage door, no watering the plants near the front door, and please, whatever you do, do not knock on the front door. He prefers when everyone pets him and gives him snacks all day.
Environmentalist
Maui is an avid supporter of the environment whether it be rolling around in the grass to stimulate grass growth, carrying sticks home from his walks to keep the roadsides clean, or rolling around in dead animals for...well, we don't' have any idea why he does that, but we're sure it's for an environmentally sound cause.
VIGILANT
Always alert and ready to defend the neighborhood corner from his upstairs beanbag bed overlooking the porch, we can always depend on Mountain Cur Maui to reign down relentless barking upon shady women pushing strollers, suspicious old ladys, nefarious men on bikes, and other such houligans.
SPECIAL
Maui is a very grateful and affectionate dog
INDEPENDENT
Neighborhood watch and Homeland Security are lonely jobs unsuited for dogs needing constant companionship, pampering, petting, and attention. Mountain Cur Maui is relatively low maitenance, needing cuddling and snuggling only every 5 to 10 minutes with brief naps in between
